Buffalo Custom Software

Custom software for Buffalo businesses that have outgrown what’s off the shelf.

Starting at $2,500. Built directly with you, shaped like how you actually work, and yours when it’s done.

What I mean by custom software

Not an app store product with your logo on it. A tool built for one business: yours. A dashboard that shows the numbers you actually need on a Monday morning. A CRM that tracks leads the way your sales process works, not the way someone else imagined it. A client portal where your customers see their own jobs, files, or invoices without calling you. An intake form that starts the work instead of just collecting paper.

The businesses that come to me usually have one thing in common: they have a step in their process that does not fit any software they have tried, and it happens to be the step that matters most. Everything else is working tolerably well. That one piece keeps living in a spreadsheet, a group text, a binder in somebody’s truck. Custom software is just what you build when that stops being acceptable.

What I build for Buffalo businesses

The common pieces

  • CRMs and lead pipelines built around your actual sales process
  • Job and project tracking for contractors and trades
  • Client portals where customers see their own information
  • Internal dashboards that answer your standard Monday questions
  • Intake and quote forms that feed directly into your workflow
  • Automations that move data between tools so nobody has to type it twice
  • Reporting that comes to you on a schedule instead of being assembled by hand

What gets built first

I ask about the odd part of your process first. The exception, the step everybody handles differently, the thing that goes wrong when someone new starts. That is the piece every off-the-shelf product got wrong, and it is the reason a custom build is worth doing at all.

Then I build the part that costs you the most time or money right now, and you use it while the rest gets built. You are never waiting months to find out if it was right.

Why an independent developer, not an agency

Most of the software companies that come up when you search in Buffalo are agencies: teams of people with project managers, discovery phases, and hourly rates. The project manager relays your notes to a developer you may never speak with. The hourly rate means you do not know what you are paying until you get the bill.

I am not an agency. I am one developer who works with a small number of clients directly. When you have a question, you ask me. When something needs changing, it gets changed without going through a ticket queue. The price is quoted flat, before anything is built, so you know exactly what you are committing to.

The trade-off is real: I cannot staff up a ten-person team for a six-month enterprise project. What I can do is build the specific thing your business actually needs, for a price a small business can afford, and have it working in weeks instead of quarters.

The Buffalo part

I am in Western New York, which means I can sit down at your shop instead of running calls at 9 a.m. across a time zone. It also means I am not bringing a template built for a company in Austin and fitting your Buffalo business into it. Contractors in this market. Restaurants on this side of the state. Trades and service businesses that have been here for twenty years. I know the context well enough that it changes what I build.

Most of what I build for Buffalo clients works just as well for businesses well outside the area. But if you are close by and want to sit down once before anything starts, that is easy enough to do.

What it costs

Custom tools and business systems start at $2,500 and are scoped individually from there. Every project gets a flat price before anything is built, so there are no hourly surprises. Half upfront, half on delivery. You own the code, the data, and the accounts when it is done.

For a clear sense of what goes into the price (what a first-phase build typically includes, how scope decisions get made, and what ongoing support looks like), the pricing page has the full detail.

Common questions

What kinds of businesses do you work with? Contractors, trades, service businesses, specialty retailers, professional offices, and anyone else who has gotten to the point where running the operation out of spreadsheets and group texts is holding them back. Size does not decide it. Having a process that does not fit any standard software does.

How long does a project take? A first working version is usually a few weeks, not a few months, because I build the piece that hurts most first and put it in your hands before building anything else. You are using something real long before the whole thing is finished.

Do I own it when it’s done? Yes. You own the code, the accounts, and all the data. It is written in standard tools any developer can pick up. Nothing is locked to me.

Can it work with software I already have? Usually, yes. If your accounting or scheduling program is working fine, it stays. What I build fills the gap around it rather than replacing things that already do their job.

If you are not in the Buffalo area, the main custom software page covers the same work without the local context. If the specific problem is a lead list in a spreadsheet that has grown beyond what a spreadsheet can handle, the CRM and lead management page is more specific to that.
